Make it easier to see what file you are looking at

This might sound stupid, but when viewing issues on a file, the visibility of the current file/path is not very good at all. As far as I can tell, there are only 2 ways to know:

  1. Left issues navigation panel shows the path of current file but…
    • its truncated to the first 4 or 5 letters of the file which makes it unusable if you have several files that start the same so forced to hover over it
    • the panel is not expandable so I can’t make it wide enough to see the full file name
  2. Scroll all the way to the top of the file source code to see the file path
    • this isn’t good as I have now lost view of the point of focus/context… the actual issue(s) in the file

Suggestion(s)

  • Make file name/path “sticky” at top of source code so it’s always visible
  • Make issues list panel on the left expandable

Hey @Mike_H, welcome to the community! It doesn’t sound stupid at all  I think it makes sense, I’ve flagged this for the devs

Hi Mike, thank you so much for sharing this with us! It does not sound stupid at all, we actually really appreciated the (or any!) feedback.

Regarding this issue, it has actually been brought up a few times in the past and we are looking into it  I will also be adding this into the feedback ticket!
