the libfreetype package name in ubuntu 18.04 is libfreetype6
Hello, is there an update to the issue?
We’re running into this as well (same stacktrace) with enterprise 8.5.0, openjdk 11.0.8. Installed fontconfig and freetype but they didn’t help.
Our linux image is centos-like but otherwise custom built, any tips on debugging further?

Please disregard the comment above, I spoke too soon 
We were missing fonts. I was able to generate PDFs after installing dajavu font package.
