I’m an admin of the sonarcloud organization for our team. We’ve had a lot of webapp and integration errors recently (we use Bitbucket cloud integration) and there isn’t much i have to go on as to what the problem is. I don’t see anything in the UI that lets me see log entries for our sonarcloud interactions so i guess i can’t see that which is a bummer. How do I go about finding out what’s wrong? We have a paid plan but apparently we don’t pay for support which brings me here. Am I right that I can’t see log entries? If i give you the details can you look in the logs to tell me why things are failing? I’m not talking about analysis failures, we’re having errors using the webapp to look at analysis reports and others are unable to add projects. We suspect we’re hitting some rate limiting but even that doesn’t make a lot of sense since we have fewer than 500 projects which isn’t that many. Any help you can provide would be appreciated. Thanks dan
Hi,
No, unfortunately you don’t have access to back end logs (except a little bit through Background Tasks). Are you comfortable sharing publicly
- your organization ID
- the approximate date/time of these errors
?
Ann
Sure. The organization is sensusanalytics-dev and yesterday the errors were pretty frequent and the screenshot i included in this ticket was right before i posted the original question. So we suspect we’re getting rate limited by bitbucket cloud but we don’t understand why so hopefully something in the logs would help us figure that out. Personally I’m wondering if someone has a script making calls or something like that. We have two organizations the other is xyleminc. The only other thing i can think of is that we have too many projects, is there some documentation on how many projects we can practically have in sonarcloud? We’ve got something under 500 now but we probably want to go to like 1,000. Will that be ok?
Thanks for the help Ann

Hi Dan,
I’m not the best person to answer these in-depth questions. I’m going to flag this for those who (hopefully!) are.

Hi @Dan_Finucane !
I’ll take a look deeper into your questions and hopefully I can reply to you soon. If you have any other feedback or issues you are currently facing, please let me know.
Thank you Aura. We found the problem. We were hitting the bitbucket rate limit. I think the fact that we sonar analyze a large number of bitbucket repos was part of the problem because i guess the integration makes a lot of bitbucket service calls because of that. Anyway we are past our problem now. It is frustrating that there is no log we can look at or request to get that would give us visibility to the problem and make it more obvious. We’re kind of blind to the cause when things go wrong.
Hello again @Dan_Finucane
Thank you for letting us know the root cause of the issue you were facing. About the frustration regarding the logs, I understand, and I see this feedback as valuable, so I’m going to pass this information on to our internal team.
