Feature Request: Allow moving branch analyses already created

Must-share information (formatted with Markdown):

  • which versions are you using (SonarQube 9.9EE, Dockerized)
  • how is SonarQube deployed: Docker
  • what are you trying to achieve Main branch of repository is not “master” and needs to be changed
  • what have you tried so far to achieve this Project UI only allows delete of branches that are not Main, and rename of Main branch. I have no analysis of master, but develop and oyster branches already have been analyzed. One project uses develop as Main branch, another project uses same repo, but oyster as Main. If I try to rename master to oyster, I get an error since oyster already exists. But if I delete oyster branch, I lose existing analyses.

Hi,

We know this is a need, and have for a while. We’re currently actively working on this, but it’s not a simple or small change and we’re having to do it incrementally. We plan to deliver the first step in 10.0. Unfortunately that step is entirely internal and there won’t be anything for you to see/use yet.

We hope to deliver this early in the 10-series.
