False positive New Code

Server Info:

  • SonarQube Server (Data Center Edition) (2025.1.1), ScannerCLI 7.3.0.5189
  • SonarQube deployed: Helm

We have detected that an issue was marked in sonarqube with the introduced date equal to the analysis date of the java class. It seems that capturing the commit date of that line of code has failed, so it has been marked as new code when that line of code is committed with a date of 2021.

It is an isolated case, we have not detected similar cases.

Hi Christian,

Issues are only backdated in certain limited situations. Otherwise, it’s quite normal that issues will be given the date of their detection.
