Email from SonarSource regarding reaching LOC threshold

Must-share information:

  • Which versions are you using: SonarQube v10.6
  • How is SonarQube deployed: zip
  • What are you trying to achieve: Trying to know how SonarSource is able to know that my threshold is exceeded.
  • What have you tried so far to achieve this: I know that there’s email triggered to users with global Administrator permission (whatever it is called) when the threshold is reaching.

I was curious to know how SonarSource is able to know that I’m reaching the threshold limit.

To be more clear, an email was sent just to the user who purchased the Enterprise license and doesn’t have access to SonarQube (even as a regular user), regarding this information.

I’m curious about this because, our instance is not accessible via internet and only accessible in Corp network.

This is a Sonarqube server setting, see
https://<yoursonarhost>/admin/extension/license/app

This email is sent to all the users who is part of Global Permissions (system administrators), if I’m not wrong.

The main concern here is this email was received by a user of the Organization who doesn’t even have access to SonarQube instance/application, but the user is the purchaser of the Enterprise License.

You’re right. At a second glance, I’m not quite sure about the sender of that mail.
AFAIR the mail sent from the notification threshold uses the email adress that is configured here
under From adress https://<yoursonarhost>/admin/settings?category=email_notification

So this might just be an additional notification from the Sonarsource sales contact that is automatically sent to the person that purchased the license.

The mails i get for webinar invites, Sonarsource blog updates … etc. are all sent by
