SonarLint installation adds various files and modifies csproj files,
Do you think it’s necessary?
We want to use SonarLint without any effect on our files.
We can live with the added files but not with changes that we can’t prevent in .gitIgnore.
Can you help?

I guess you are using connected mode, and impact on your project files and folders (see our documentation page) are indeed expected as of today. The good news is, we’ve just started to carry out work aimed at avoiding or at least minimizing the impact of SonarLint connected mode to the changeset 
If all goes well, you may see some changes within the next few releases, stay tuned!
