9.9.9 is not on Docker Hub

The helm chart for Sonarqube 9.9.9 has been released, but the latest community version on Docker Hub is 9.9.8.

Hi,

Welcome to the community!

This is on purpose. I’m being told there are no relevant changes in 9.9.9 for Community Edition and Developer Edition, so we simply didn’t release those binaries. It’s to keep you from stepping a pointless upgrade.

HTH,
Ann

Thank you for your explanation.

The problem is that I did notice that the helm chart had been updated and tried the pointless update, thus causing an outage until I rolled back. It seems to me that if the helm chart exists for an edition, the docker image should exist also, even if it’s just to re-tag an existing container.

Hi,

I understand your position and don’t disagree with you.

Hey @chrismgrayftsinc

Thanks for sharing. Indeed when releasing Helm we didn’t foresee that it will fail for Community, sorry for the inconvenience!

P.S. For community users the recommendation would be to stick to latest releases of SonarQube Community Build as 9.9 is not maintained anymore (new LTA 2025.1 is out).

Ah I didn’t notice that 9.9 is no longer LTA. I guess we’d better upgrade.

@chrismgrayftsinc and to avoid confusion, 2025.1 is LTA for paid editions only. The free product is now called SonarQube Community Build and it has no more LTAs (see more info here).
