I plan to purchase AWS’s “SonarQube packaged for Bitnami” AMI. Will I be able to upgrade to SonarQube Developer Edition from that point?
If so, can someone share the steps that I will need to take to do that?

I’m not familiar with Bitnami; why would you want to buy a package when the SonarQube install is free?
Regarding an upgrade to Developer Editon, I believe we’ve seen problems generating licenses for Bitnami instances because of duplicate server keys. Also, the “upgrade” consists of installing the Developer Edition bundle and providing the license key once you’ve started the instance up. So I really don’t think you gain anything here by purchasing a package.

We chose that package named, “SonarQube packaged by Bitmani”, because our development environment will be in the cloud and not an on-premises server. Their Amazon Machine Image (AMI) appears to be a community edition in the package description.

Again, to upgrade to Developer Edition, you’ll need to (re)install. I would just save the time, effort and expense and start from SonarQube Developer Edition.
