Sonar version = Sonarqube 9.9.8 LTA Enterprise Edition.
I noticed that SonarScanner CLI version 4.7 is installed in my company’s github runners. Currently my office’s usage of CLI 4.7 is still working but if we need to upgrade to a higher version can I jump to the latest version 7?
Is it also possible to have multiple sonarscanner clis in a github runner?

Your version is past EOL. You should upgrade to either the latest version or the current LTA (long-term active version) at your earliest convenience. Your upgrade path is:
9.9.8 → 2025.1.1-> 2025.2 (last step optional)

Regarding your questions, yes you should upgrade the scanner along with the server. And as for having multiple instances of the scanner on a runner, I don’t see why you couldn’t.
