I wanted to pull the ‘coverage’ data from SonarQube to our service listing in ServiceNow.
But based on your end-of-the-sentence warning, I assume this is a path I should steer clear from?

While I don’t understand why you would want to push coverage information to Service Now, I won’t necessarily say you should steer clear of it.
You’ve filed this under plugin development, but probably an external process is the way to go. You can use the Web APIs (docs link in your page footer) to pull the data you want & then push it where it needs to go.
And BTW, the best way to master the API is to perform the desired action via the UI and eavesdrop to see which calls the UI made to accomplish the action.
