SonarQube no messages in PhpStorm

And a thorough description of the problem / question: It looks like I have set up and configured SonarQube plugin properly, but despite the fact that I can see issues in the web interface, I cannot see any of them within my IDE. My colleagues have similar or the same setup in their VS Codes and other Intellij products and they can see SonarQube reports within the IDE/code editor. Many thanks. The file that is shared in the screenshot has issues reported by SonarQube that can be seen in the web interface, but not in the IDE directly.

Hey @plev, thanks for reaching out!

Could you please send the full verbose logs from SQ:IDE? Currently, there’s no sign of anaysis run in the analysis, and it does not contain the start-up logs. This would help us troubleshoot the issue!

Furthermore, we also have a Flight Recorder mode in the Help & Feedback tab, you can click this button to start a recording session, then trigger a non-working analysis, and end the recording session. You will be prompted with a Session UUID that you have to share here.

Thank you for the quick reply!

The analysis does not work because the hostname of your SonarQube Server cannot be resolved. Can you double check that this is correct? The SQ:IDE analysis is done locally, but if you are using connected mode we need to retrieve some information from the server to make it work.

Also, if you using a VPN/proxy, please set the proxy settings accordingly in IntelliJ, as we rely on them. You can find the settings in Settings → Appearance & Behavior → System Settings → HTTP Proxy.

Thank you for your quick response.

I have reviewed the proxy settings and despite the fact we use VPN, I have set it for now from auto proxy to no proxy and seems like responses from the server are returning 200 so that would not be a problem. Afterward there some error, that I do not fully understand, could you please give me some hints/ideas what could be the source of that error? Still after disabling proxy, I cannot see any stuff within the IDE. All I could spot is saying insufficient privileges, any idea what would need to be changed in the profile. I can access the server with the user token… thanks!

Which version of SonarQube Server do you use?

When you configure your connection via the wizard, are you able to generate a token or get the list of projects? The errors you have seem to indicate the URL you’ve put is not working. Could you also try to run a curl command with the token and see if it works:

curl -u squ_xxx: <your_sq_url>/api/authentication/validate

Normally, if the curl command works, it should work as well in SQ:IDE.
