Sonarqube Migration - Clone existing VM to New VM Server

Hi,
We planned to migrate our existing Sonarqube to our new fresh server.
Is it possible if we cloned the existing Server to the new one? So we dont need to have new fresh installation.

Welcome to the community!

Keep in mind that the main part of SonarQube lives in the database. What you’re thinking of as the installation is (from a configuration standpoint)

  • any non-SonarSource plugins you’re using
  • the configurations in $SONARQUBE-HOME/conf/sonar.properties
  • your Elasticsearch indices, which will be re-built automatically if needed

So in the long run it may be easier just to reinstall. That said, I don’t know of anything off-hand that would prevent your plan from working.
