Here GitHub - SonarSource/sonarqube-mcp-server: SonarQube MCP Server
it says for the sonarqube ide integration one needs to specify the ide plugin port.
But I can’t find any documentation on how to find that port

Hi there @robert-elles ,
Thanks a lot for the post! You are truly an early adopter for our features
![]()
TL;DR; IDE plugin port is not a required parameter.
This change in SonarQube MCP Server is coming in conjunction with a change in our VS Code extension, that will be released very soon ![]()
So, if you are using our MCP Server with SonarQube for IDE installed in Cursor, Windsurf, or VS Code, the port in the MCP configuration will be automatically updated by our IDE extension. This will allow MCP Server to be connected with the IDE plugin, and perform a more accurate analysis of files that agent modifies.
Once the changes are live in both MCP & our IDE plugin, the relevant documentation pages will also be updated, and an announcement will be posted in the releases category.
I hope this helps,
