SonarQube for IDE: Visual Studio 8.13 - Automated token generation and connected mode setup

Hello Visual Studio community,

The SonarQube for IDE: Visual Studio version 8.13 is now available!

This release further simplifies the connected mode of SonarQube for IDE with SonarQube Cloud and Server, in particular the token generation used for the authentication.

No need for manually creating a token and pasting it back in the IDE anymore. Click on the “Generate” link in the Edit Authentication Details window. This will take you to a SonarQube Cloud or Server web page. When clicking on “Allow connection”, the token will be generated and filled in the “Token” field in SonarQube for IDE.

If you have SonarQube for IDE installed in Visual Studio and are working on SonarQube Cloud or Server without connected mode, clicking “Open in IDE” from the issue details view will automatically create the connection and switch you to Visual Studio (if open). You will then be prompted to trust the connection.

This version also includes analyzers’ updates most importantly the .NET analyzer that brings some improvements.

You can find SonarQube for IDE: Visual Studio release notes here.

Thank you for your continued support!
