Must-share information (formatted with Markdown):

  • I’m using sonarQube Server Enterprise 2025.1 and we use the bitbucket sonarqube IQC plugin.
  • I seeing that autodetect AI generated code in the docs really works with github and copilot. Can this also work with Bitbucket Server? So far I’m not seeing that it really does. Can’t find any documentation that it excludes all but github. If anyone has dealt with this in the past please share any information.

Sorry for the late response!

In SonarQube Server 2025.1, auto-detection only works for GitHub-bound projects.

In SonarQube Server 2025.3, the restrictions have been loosened (SONAR-24705)

A few things to keep in mind even in 2025.3 and beyond:

  1. Autodetection of AI generated code will only work if you’re using GitHub Copilot. Other AI coding tools are not supported.

  2. In the event that you are storing your code in Bitbucket but you have GitHub Copilot licenses, you can still get this to work as long as you setup a GitHub integration that has GitHub Copilot Business read-only permissions.
