sonarCloud MACROS(C++) bad smell question

  For the judgment of macros, if it is based on input parameters, this description is correct.
  But if the macro describes a function, shouldn’t this rule check be ignored?

Hello @freeeyes,

This rule is based on MISRA C++ 2008 standard. While we agree with your point of view, we cannot change the implementation of this rule to include the mentioned exception unless the standard explicitly says so.
On the other side, this rule is removed from Sonarway in the next release. It is not going to be enabled by default due to this limitation. We also plan to add our own version of this rule that takes care of all similar exceptions. Until then feel free to disable this rule or ignore it when the macro doesn’t describe an expression.
