This has been solved.

We were using the SonarJava plugin v6 and specifying the XMLReport path on Sonar 7.9.3 but it was still not working. Going back to plugin v5 and removing the XMLReportPaths property has fixed the issue. We will wait until the Azure DevOps “Maven pom.xml” build step has been updated to include the XMLReportPaths property as it currently only uses the deprecated property.
