We have a requirement to create a custom rule template.
Below is the api which can be used to set a rule as a template during rule definition
Below are questions we have.
Deploying plugin with custom template rule on a server will only provide the template.
Any rules created (from UI) for the template rule stays local to the sonarqube instance (in DB).
There is no option to copy the rules created out of template from one sonarqube instance to another sonarqube instance and rules needs to be created on every instance manually.
Is this correct ?
As we want to use api RulesDefinition.NewRule.html#setTemplate(boolean) to define a custom template rule, can you please let us know if there is any plans for deprecating or removing the api/creation of custom template rules in future releases.
We want to know if there is any risk of writing a new custom template rule.
Currently we are waiting for feedback to proceed further with creating custom rule templates.
Can you please provide us the feedback which will help us in decision making.
