Questionable Terms 10.8

Hi there,

In the cause of a renewal for a subscription, our legal team reviewed and struggled a lot with the “no risk and liability for company” paragraphs as they seem to be exceptional wide for a SaaS service. However, most we struggle with 10.8

You expressly understand and agree that the technical processing and transmission of any
data as part of any Services, including any content you provide, may be transferred
unencrypted and may involve: (a) transmissions over various networks; and (b) changes to
conform and adapt to technical requirements of connecting networks or devices.

This gives the impression, SonarCloud would send all private source code unencrypted across the public internet. I’m sure this is not the case, but it would be helpful for my argument in justification of using the service to understand on why such a clause is necessary.

Thank you

Hey @reyem

This forum isn’t a great format for ToC discussions – have you gotten in touch with SonarCloud via the contact form? https://sonarcloud.io/contact

I saw other discussions in the form about ToC, so thought I want to try here. Maybe it still would be interesting for everybody using the service on why the terms go that far. However, I understand the concerns and I will go via account manager. Thx.
