New Rules for Apex

Hi Apex Developers,

We’ve released 3 new rules to SonarQube Cloud, and coming to SonarQube Server 2026.5, to help you with your development. The rules are:

  • Rule S9280: Redundant “file.path\(\)” calls should not be used with “system.file\(\)”
  • Rule S9282: Super-assignment operators should not be used
  • Rule S1940: Boolean checks should not be inverted

Analyze your projects today and let us know what you think of the new rules, and if there are other patterns that we should start detecting.
