While helping a client analyze costs, I notice they are using a legacy paid plan with up to 100k private lines of code analysis for €11 monthly. Good value I would say. Thank you. But, what if they need to move to the next tier up, it suddenly jumps from 100k lines to 1.9 million at €60~ month. For the smaller client, perhaps only maintaining code rather than keeping a project in active development, a 5 times increase is a substantial outlay. Annual increase is from a reasonable €132 to a substantial €720+.
For a client who simply wants to maintain feature parity with an aging codebase, how can you justify this extra cost burden? I understand there is now the added benefit of “AI” on pull requests and some other modern features, but what if the client is simply looking to maintain a project that is no longer under active development or has already implemented another providers solution for AI code reviews? This would add a reason for them to look elsewhere or for them to consider cancelling your services.
As a solution, can you consider a mid tier or the option to exclude AI to reduce the monthly cost? Or a per active developer plan?

Our entry-level plan (100k) has been and continues to be heavily discounted to make it easy for organizations to get started using SonarQube Cloud. It sounds like your client benefited greatly from this!
We recently raised prices on all paid tiers of SonarQube Cloud for the first time in 5 years, over which time we have added a lot of new features (new languages, more rules, secrets detection, Deeper SAST), along with a lot of other improvements. Rare price increases like this one make sure we can continue to innovate and provide value to users in the years to come.
I also want to clarify that the cost of our new Team plan is not primarily driven by AI.
And finally:
The next tier is 200k Lines of Code, not 1.9M LOC. The Team Plan pricing varies depending on the chosen LoC tier.
Thank you for clarifying @Colin. Should I see the 1.9M line offer when I click the upgrade plan from the organizations > billing screen? First screenshot is the billing screen. Second is what I am shown. From your message, I assume I should be offered a 200k lines option.
Good to have this clarification, thank you. With the warning that you cannot revert back to the legacy plan, I was cautious to progress any further with a free trial. I would not want my client to have a hefty new bill once the trial ended.
