Improve 'Check out in browser' link

Please provide

  • Operating system: Windows 10
  • IDE name and version: Eclipse 2024-06
  • SonarQube for Eclipse plugin version: 11.11.0
  • Programming language you’re coding in: Java, JS, TS
  • Is connected mode used: SonarQube Cloud

When I get the update notification a popup is shown

When I click on the ‘Check out in browser’ the link is opened

However:

  1. It seems there are no notes for 11.12.0 here
  2. Even when there are such notes for a version it’s sometimes harder to find them due to a big amount of topics present.

Maybe it would be better to have the link to point to exact topic in the forum (or if it’s hard because the topic itself is not available yet during the release - then to the GitHub releases page with the proper release version).

Thanks for the feedback and the detailed explanation. Your suggestion to have the update notification link directly to the specific release notes on GitHub or in the community forum is an excellent idea. It would definitely make it easier to find the information you need. I’ve passed this on to the relevant team.

Looks to be improved: now 2 webpages are opened: GitHub with Jira releases (Releases · SonarSource/sonarlint-eclipse · GitHub) and the Topics tagged eclipse
