Database problem upgrading from 6.7.7

Hello Team,

We are facing below exception while we are upgrading sonarqube from 6.7.7 to 7.9.6 version. we have updated DB and all the required details and started the service.
when we give the DNS/setup, it shows “Database Migration is running”, It took almost 3:30hrs and it got failed to due “The transaction log for database ‘DBNAME’ is full”

DB: Mysql 2014 (MSSQL Server 12.0)

How Much DB disk space is required for upgrading sonarqube 6.7.7 to 7.9.6 community edition.?

My DB is disk capacity is 100GB, 80% having free space before starting the upgrade. But while DB migration it consumed total free space and failed with DB disk is full Exception?

Please recommend what is Min DB Size should be ?
Can we skip the “live measures processed” for DB migration stage

Hi,

Welcome to the community!

I moved your post to a new thread since it was only tangentially related to the thread you posted in. Please create new threads for new topics.

Unfortunately, there’s no good answer to that. It’s dependent entirely on the size of your DB.

Sorry, no. Upgrades have to go through all the migration steps.

It looks like you’ll need to work with your DBAs & Ops folks to allocate more resources to get through the upgrade, but you can probably scale back down afterward.

Unfortunately, it’s been a very long time since SonarQube 7.9 and I don’t remember any details about that upgrade. But I think you’ll have an easier time moving forward from 7.9 to 8.9 and then on to the current LTS: 9.9.
