Angular first time sonarqube-scanner: server cannot be reached

In a standard Angular CLI project (v14, on macOS arm Apple M1 Pro) I am trying to set-up sonnarqube-scanner.

I installed v2.8.2

npm install -D sonarqube-scanner

When running sonar-scanner I get the same error everytime:

ERROR: SonarQube server [http://localhost:9000] can not be reached

I have not installed any Sonar server or anything else related to Sonar apart from the npm package.

Do I need to install a server? Create an account somewhere?

Welcome to the community!

You’ll need to either install a SonarQube instance or use SonarCloud

Thank You, that may seem obvious but I was not sure.
