Analysis failing: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Couldn't find root component with uuid ABCD

which versions are you using ?
–> SonarQube : Enterprise Edition Version 7.7 (build 23042)
what are you trying to achieve?
–> The issue happens when an analysis is received on a particular project. It does not occurs on other projects.
what have you tried so far to achieve this?
–> I searched this forum and I found this:
Sonar failed to run analysis, attempted update now failing
and this:
Couldn’t find root component with uuid “xyz”
but they are useless (the 2d one does not give any answer)

–> tried to delete the project: same issue occured
–> tried to change the project key ( so we can start again and forget about this bad one): another issue occured:
Caused by: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Component description length (599) is longer than the maximum authorized (2000)

Note: (funny) Length 599 longer than 2000 - !!!

I guess I didn’t notice when you edited the OP to add the logs. I was expecting a reply. I guess you’re still seeing this problem? Are you still on 7.7 or have you upgraded since?

Hi,

yes we still have the issue and we are still on 7.7.
However, we are planning to move 7.9 LTS in the coming weeks. Do you believe it will fix the issue?

If not, is there a way to force the deletion of the project with the issue? That would be good enough for us

Yes we tried but the issue is blocking it and it shows a red dialog (with same message found in the logs) :

Upgrade to 7.9 LTS solved it.

I could delete the project and restart it from fresh.
