I’m excited to share an update on the AI CodeFix feature, which has been in Early Access since September 2024 on both SonarQube Server and SonarQube Cloud. 
We’ve gained valuable insights through the Early Access program. Here’s a quick recap of the current state:
- The feature has generated a significant number of code fixes since launch.
- Daily usage is continuously growing, showing strong user adoption.
- Developer feedback is positive, and we’re actively improving accuracy and relevance.
What we have learned and improved
We received many requests for supporting integration with self-managed models. Indeed, many of you have security and data governance constraints, especially with AI capabilities and toolings. To ease the activation of the feature, we decided to implement an integration with Azure OpenAI, fulfilling your need. We are planning to support more foundational models (LLMs) from other cloud providers. We also gave you the possibility to only select a subset of projects with AI CodeFix enabled in order to test and slowly roll-out the functionality.
We are now running internal benchmarks to support more languages and rules in the near future.
Transition to General Availability (GA)
We are targeting the SonarQube Server 2025.3 release for the General Availability of AI CodeFix, with a rollout in SonarQube Cloud planned to occur around the same time.
When
The Early Access period will conclude once AI CodeFix is generally available.
Pricing and Packaging for GA
AI CodeFix will be included at no additional cost for:
- Enterprise and Data Center Editions of SonarQube Server.
- Team and Enterprise plans on SonarQube Cloud.
AI CodeFix will not be offered as an add-on for other editions or plans.
