After 9.9 LTS upgrade I get rerouted to login page

  • What’s the issue you’re facing?After upgrading my application from 8.9 LTS to 9.9 LTS, there is a little pop up window that shows up at the bottom right of my screen and it suggests to add Sonarlint. Everytime I press any button (Learn More or Dismiss) I get rerouted to the login page of the application. I pretty much get logged out of the app and I am able to log back in without any huddle.

This phenomenon also happens when trying to generate tokens in Sonarqube as well. I get rerouted everytime I try to generate user, projects or group tokens.

This also happens when I am trying to make changes to the app as an admin.

However, I am able to navigate the app, perform basic functionalities without any issue.

I saw a similar post with approximately the same issue and couple solutions mentioned by the system admins was;

  • Adding the sonar.log.level with debug, which I did and I was able to see more logs but nothing more than that.
    - Name: sonar.log.level
    Value: DEBUG
    I would like to know how I can get rid of the pop window and how I can generate tokens and perform admin activities without getting logged out or rerouted to the login page.

Hi,

Are you using sonar.web.context to set a path for the SonarQube URL?

Yes I have the sonar.web.context set to /sonarqube as the value. I do not know if it should be the actual URL of the application itself like the “www.sonarqube.com” for example that you are talking about.

Instead of /sonarqube it should be “www.sonarqube.com”?

Sorry for the late reply.

sonar.web.context allows you to run SonarQube in a “subfolder” (so to speak). So, if you’re running your server at www.mycompany.com and you put sonar.web.context=/run-my-sonarqube-here, you will access SonarQube at www.mycompany.com/run-my-sonarqube-here. For many (most?) installations, however, it should probably be left out (you can just remove it, or set it to /).

If you change this, does it solve your problems? Please make sure you clear all your browser cookies before trying again. They are typically tied to the context and may interfere if not properly reset.
