Usage of software repository data for research

Hi SonarSource Team,

I would like to use your public JIRA issue and version data of Sonarqube for my Msc. thesis work. Work is about mining software repositories.

Is it ok for me use your data via your JIRA REST API for this purpose?

I may get in trouble for this later because I haven’t consulted our Infra folks, but I think this won’t be a problem as long as you’re reasonable. E.g.

  • throttle your requests to no more than… 1 every 5 sec(?)
  • request a reasonable page size
