Upgrade Path: SonarQube Developer 9.9.0 → Enterprise 2026.1 LTA - Direct or Staged?

Hi SonarQube Community,

I’m planning to migrate our SonarQube instance from Developer Edition 9.9.0 (build 65466) to Enterprise Edition 2026.1 LTA.

Current Environment:

  • Edition: Developer 9.9.0.65466
  • Database: SQL Server 2019 (15.0.4312.2)
  • OS: Windows Server 2016

Migration Plan:

  • Create new dedicated database for Enterprise
  • Restore backup from Developer DB
  • Install SonarQube Enterprise 2026.1 LTA
  • Point to restored database

Questions:

  1. Is direct upgrade from 9.9.0 → 2026.1 LTA supported?
  2. Do I need intermediate LTS versions?** If yes, which ones?
  3. Any specific considerations for Developer → Enterprise migration?
  4. Will the automatic database migration handle the version jump?

I want to preserve all historical analysis data and project configurations.

Any guidance from the community or official documentation links would be greatly appreciated!

Yes, you have to hit every intermediate LTA. Your update path is:

9.9 → 2025.1.4 → 2026.1
