Unable to add custom email domains into portfolio subscriptions

  • SonarQube Server 2025.1
  • Deployed using Zip and on-prem, no internet
  • Sending out Portfolio reports via on-prem email server.

I was previously using SonarQube Server 10.2 - 10.8 and the new 2025.1.
Somewhere down the line, I noticed that I stopped receiving Portfolio reports from the server, so I thought maybe it was broken or something and didn’t think much of it. I was still able to receive normal notifications about the quality gates at this point.

After upgrading to 2025.1, I was required to add another email address to the list of people currently subscribe to the portfolio. This was when I encountered the issue where I could not add in the email address.

I was able to add dummy email addresses ending with .com and .org without any issues. But I could not add email address ending with our custom domain name, which does not conform to the usual TLDs.

Are there any work arounds for this?

This is a side effect of SONAR-20530 and PLUGINAPI-68.

We’ve already identified that we need to make the validation less strict (PLUGINAPI-87).

This is only report #2 in the last year, but in any case your report will be added to the ticket to help us prioritize. Right now, I’m unaware of any workaround you could use except using a standard TLD.
