Superclass of issues and hotspots?

Originally, an “issue” was any specific violation of a rule. Hotspots were just issues, but then they were decoupled from issues. Sometimes it is useful to refer generically to any violation of a rule, but continually saying “issues and hotspots” gets tedious. Can you establish a new term – such as “complaints” – for this (i.e., the superclass of issues and hotspots)?
