Suddenly Cannot Log In with Github Credentials

Hello everyone, I had set up our SonarCloud about a month ago and I am the principal who set up our portal. This morning, May 12th 206 9AM EST I was looking through our code quality on GitHub and tried to log in and received “You are not authorized to access this instance”.

Last night while I was working, I did notice that Github asked me to re-authenticate from VS Code and this may have severed the connection to Sonar?

The dev who works on our team can log-in no problem, so this is isolated to my account. I was able to login last week, so something has happened as I re-authed in Github I am guessing.

I removed the app from GitHub, thinking this would allow me to reauthenticate but I am still unable to get into the Sonar Portal. I would have re-authenticated onto Github May 11th 2026 approximately 5PM and then around 12AM EST May 12th.

Please let me know if you need any more information, we are evaluating Sonar and are on the free tier. Thank you!

Hi,

Welcome to the community!

I assume you’re the (an) org admin? Can you reach out to contact@sonarsource.com?

Thx,
Ann

Hi there - I am! Thanks, will do.

Hi,

So the game of telephone has just informed me that I’ve steered you in the wrong direction.

I’m trying again. You should be contacted “soon”.

Ann

It happens, no worries - probably have done the exact thing myself.

Hi there - is there an SLA on responses for this? I’ve had to disconnect it from our CI/CD and that is posing a problem for us now. Thanks for your help.

Good Morning Paul. I will have a look at this today

@imaginelapaul I sent you a PM. Let’s move there

The issue is now resolved.

The user had 2 emails, and was trying to use the one that was not stored on our DB. When he switched to the one that was, the login worked.
