Hi all,

Sonar is excited to announce the release of the **SonarQube Server 2026 Release 2.1**.

This version introduces a new layout to maximize screen space and keep you in the flow, as well as full support for Java 25 with new rules to catch broken code generated by AI assistants trained on outdated preview APIs. Enjoy these and many other exciting features in this release.

Details are in the [official announcement](https://www.sonarsource.com/products/sonarqube/whats-new/2026-2/) and the [Release Notes](https://docs.sonarsource.com/sonarqube-server/latest/server-upgrade-and-maintenance/release-notes/) (and [full release notes](https://sonarsource.atlassian.net/issues?jql=project%20%3D%2010139%20AND%20issuetype%20!%3D%20Maintenance%20AND%20(fixversion%20%3D%2026232%20or%20fixversion%3D32454)) in Jira). For upgrade instructions, refer to the [upgrade notes](https://docs.sonarsource.com/sonarqube-server/latest/server-upgrade-and-maintenance/release-notes/#upgrade-notes).

As usual, downloads are available at [sonarsource.com](https://www.sonarsource.com/products/sonarqube/downloads/). Docker images are available on [Docker Hub](https://hub.docker.com/_/sonarqube) and Helm charts will be shortly available on [ArtifactHub](https://artifacthub.io/packages/helm/sonarqube/sonarqube).

After installing SonarQube Enterprise 2026.2.1 on our OTA server and logging in I got a popup regarding the new UI and it states that it is beta, “You’re now beta testing our new UI”. Does the new UI have beta status because that is not mentioned in the releasenotes?

Kind regards,
Donnie

Hey,

It’s mentioned in the release notes over [here](https://docs.sonarsource.com/sonarqube-server/server-update-and-maintenance/release-notes#new-layout-and-navigation-for-sonarqube-server).

Yes the new UI is mentioned but nothing about it being beta. I mostly want to know what the beta status popup means with regards to the UI so I can advise our users when we release 2026.2.1 to production

Hi Donnie!

The new UI is in beta with the possibility for users to opt-out in case they are unable to perform some actions with the new UI. We don’t expect this situation to happen since we already tested it internally for quite a while.

It will go out of beta with the next release (2026.3) and with no option to opt-out at that point.

Also, we don’t expect any significant changes compared to the beta. A few bug fixes if anything.
