Running SonarQube Enterprise v2025.1.2, although the issue I’m describing happened on v9.9 as well.
Setting up authentication via Gitlab I’ve noticed that when signing in via Gitlab it displays a redirect link for a few seconds before redirecting and successfully authenticating. Clicking on this link results in an unauthorized page being displayed. Again this does not happen when waiting for the redirect to happen.
None that I can see, what is the expected behavior with Gitlab SSO, a working redirect link displayed ahead of the browser automatic redirect?
I mean has it been tested to display a working link, I don’t think we have much control over SSO other than completing the Gitlab config options and since it is working on the eventual redirect I can’t see how we missed something there.
Will you be able to send me the screenshot of this page (with the URL that you see on the browser)? Please remember to mask sensitive information from this.
Hi Sarath
The redirect page is from gitlab.com and happens after clicking the Login with Gitlab button I shared the first time, and is displayed for around 20 seconds. Waiting it out results in a successful redirect, but its obviously very tempting for folks to click that link in order to not wait and result with that You’re not authorized to access this page error I shared.
I imagine the issue might be with gitlab.com but as this is a supported integration perhaps you guys can test this to see if its reproducible and if so raise this with them.
