Sonarqube 9.5 Enterprise Edition to Sonarqube 9.9 Enterprise Editoin

Make sure to tell us:

  • What version are you upgrading from? 9.5 Enterprise Edition.
  • System information - Open JDK 11, Postgres Single Server Version 11, RHEL 8
  • What’s the issue you’re facing? None. I would just like to know if i can directly upgrade Sonarqube 9.5 Enterprise Edition to Sonarqube 9.9 Enterprise Edition or is it better to go to 9.8 first? Also, what does it mean when my system says “You’re running a version of SonarQube that has reached end of life”? Will it stop working soon if i don’t upgrade, does my company need to buy new licenses to use Sonarqube 9.9 Enterprise Edition? Thanks.

Hey there.

Your migration path is to go directly from SonarQube v9.6 to v9.9.

A SonarQube version reaching end-of-life means there will be no further updates (patching bugs, security issues, etc.). It won’t suddenly stop working, but you should prioritize an upgrade.

i just wanted to clarify if i get this right. I am currently in 9.5, in order for me to upgrade to 9.9 I have to upgrade it to 9.6 first then upgrade to 9.9?

Sorry, I must have mistyped. No – you can go from any v9.x version (including v9.5) directly to v9.9 LTS.
