Dear Sir or Madam,
I wanted to give sonar cube a try. I downloaded the community edition (sonarqube-26.6.0.123539.zip) and followed the instruction on the web page (https://docs.sonarsource.com/sonarqube-server/try-out-sonarqube). But I can’t get the server running. I can see in the es.log that its status is turning to red.
On the web interface I see the “SonarCube is starting” text and then the connectio gets lost, caused be the server which stops.
In the web.log I can find the error message:

Hello @mfuhs and welcome to the Community! The type of error that you are seeing is one that is commonly seen when the embedded Elasticsearch cannot properly allocate its shards, most often because of too little disk space on the filesystem where <SONARQUBE_HOME>/data/es8 is stored. Are there any logs in es.log mentioning “DiskThresholdMonitor”? Could you share the full logs?
If indeed this turns out to be the issue, then the solution is to just provision a larger disk space in the Elasticsearch volume.

This clarifies it: your instance is running against a partially initialized H2 embedded DB. Not sure how you got to this partially-initialized situation, but I recommend you just stop SonarQube, wipe the H2 DB files (you can just wipe C:\sonarqube\data), and try again.
Btw if after your trial you eventually adopt SonarQube for production usage, don’t forget that H2 is meant only for evaluation purposes and you should move out of it.
I only tries several times to start the sonarqube system… Okay, I deleted the data folder content and the system started up.
But why is C and C++ not supported? Without that it is worthless for us.
C and C++ are not supported on SonarQube Community Build (you would need a paid SonarQube Server license), but they are supported on SonarQube Cloud as part of the free tier. So if you’re only interested in these languages, perhaps you could give SonarQube Cloud a try, instead of SonarQube Community Build.
