Show Overall Code Tab for Short lived branches and PRs

Hi,

I came to understanding that Scan on Short lived branches will not show Overall Code Tab and only New Code Tab is displayed after reading this New code tab and overall code tab is not showing on my new branch - SonarQube Cloud - Sonar Community.

But please help me how to handle this situation.

I have like 50 smells and consider that I have addressed some of the smells and in today’s time especially using AI Copilot.

Now when I scan on my PR I would like to see how many issues are fixed in overall code. That way I will be able to see what issues are pending and fix those issues. At times it can be that I would have introduced new issues too.

So, I really feel the need for it to avoid multiple iterations of PRs.

Please consider if you see it as a really needfull feature.

I think showing Estimated after merge value for all items would resolve this issue.

Hey @nithinbanaru, I think you have a good point: that it might be interesting to show not only how many new issues does a PR introduce, but also how many issues does it solve. I will flag this for our PMs, perhaps they also consider it interesting.

In the meantime, to achieve your goal, you could try setting up a long-lived branch (i.e. tweak the long-lived-branch pattern so that you can have some specific branch that will be long-lived) and then fix the old issues here. Run normal branch analyses on these branch to see the total count of issues, and then, once you’re done, merge/PR this branch into your main branch.
