# Security Hotspot open in IDE does not work

If your question is about SonarQube for IDE in the IntelliJ Platform, VS Code, Visual Studio, or Eclipse, please post it in that sub-category.

Otherwise, please provide:

- Sonar lint is installed on IDZ version 17 Eclipse version 4.31 for Cobol code anaylsis
- IDE name and flavor/env:SonarLint for Eclipse 11.14.0.83019
- Sonar server :Version 9.9.4 (build 87374)

And a thorough description of the problem / question:

We are working on setting up process for fixing issues reported on IDE and on Sonar server.

For security hotspot as per documentation I understood that it will not be shown on IDE but will be shown on server and there is possibility of fixing security hotspot by opening issue in IDE from server using option “Open in IDE”.

When I try this option I get error as shown below in screenshot :

Can you please confirm if this is known issue with current versions of Sonar we have ? Or does it require some extra configuration set up .

Hi @Roopali,

Does anything show up in the logs in the IDE? Could you please provide your [logs](https://docs.sonarsource.com/sonarqube-for-eclipse/troubleshooting#how-to-get-sonarlint-logs).

If nothing shows up, is anything printed to the JavaScript console in the browser?

Hello ,

Nothing shows up in IDE , but on console I can see this : localhost:641/sonarlint/api/status:1 Failed to load resource: net::ERR\_CONNECTION\_REFUSED

Can you please also confirm that the current version of sonar Lint and sonar server supports this feature or not ?

Both the SonarQube for IDE and SonarQube Server versions support the Security Hotspots.

Please provide the full logs as requested above, this one line is not very helpful to understand the full context.
