Prevent Project administrators from deleting the project

Hi,
We are using Sonarqube Enterprise Edition(Version 9.7.1).
Looking for a ways to prevent project administrators from

  • Deleting project
  • Changing project key
    *permission changes in project

Not able to find any configs for this in global permissions or using permission templates.

Do anyone know if there is any way to achieve this?

Welcome to the community!

Can you clarify what you want project admins to be able to do?

The only project admin permission that can be revoked granularly is managing project permissions.

Has project deletion or key change been a big problem for you?

Hi, in our use case, we want project admin should be able to do all the actions in the project except project deletion and changing project key. The reason for this is that we have organization wide booking of projects and project admin able to carry these actions will create conflicts.

Thanks for the details. I’ll make sure the product managers see this.

And, in case it helps, there’s audit trailing in Enterprise Edition($$), so if a project were deleted at least you could see who did it.

Hi,

I’ve moved this to the Product Manager for a Day sub-category, which is the closest you can get.

:warning: And BTW, make sure you upgrade to SonarQube v9.9 LTS soon, not only to benefit from our Best LTS Ever™, but because soon we will systematically ask users to upgrade when they ask questions about earlier versions of SonarQube, which are now considered unsupported. :smiley:
