Permissions templates and user-specific permissions do not work

Hi. I am experiencing the same problem as described here with my cloud org but it also affects individual users, even if I assign specific permissions to a user. I am not affected because I have admin privileges.

My org permissions look like this:

I’m trying to allow users to update hotspot statuses and close issues. But that’s not possible either through the members group or through assigning permissions to individual users. Member users are only able to set ‘confirmed’ status for issues and are not able to update hotspot statuses.

Hi,

You’ve shared a screenshot of your permissions template. Can you also share a screenshot of a project’s permissions?

Also, please clarify whether you created the project before or after you customized this permissions template? Templates only kick in at project creation, so nothing’s going to be retroactively updated in a project when you edit a template.

Thx,
Ann

Hello Ann,

I reviewed the project permissions view and found the ‘Apply Permission Template’ button. I clicked on it and selected the default group. This enabled the desired permissions for the project. I’ll go ahead and do this for the rest of our projects via the API.

Thanks,

Sean
