Hello,
Here’s a quick round-up of what’s landed in Gitar over the last couple of weeks.
Bring Your Own Model The big one for our Enterprise users. On top of being able to point Gitar at your own Anthropic key, you can now also use your own AWS Bedrock role, or a gateway you run (LiteLLM, Portkey, OpenRouter). Gitar still decides which model to use for which task. You just decide whose account it runs on and which region it runs in. If you’ve got residency requirements or a guardrail policy already in place, this means Gitar plays by your rules, not the other way round. There’s a “test connection” button too to make sure everything is running nicely from day one.
More integrations, richer reviews Harness, Jenkins and TeamCity are now connectable CI providers, so if a build fails, Gitar will pull the log and tell you why. Plane and YouTrack join Jira and Linear as work item sources. And “Functional Validation”, where Gitar reads your linked ticket, breaks it into objectives, and checks the PR actually does what it says on the tin, now works against GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps, Bitbucket Cloud, YouTrack and Plane issues, not just Jira and Linear.
One shared configuration (and source of best practices) across your repos You can now nominate one repository as your org’s “configuration repo,” and every other repo inherits its skills, rules, and review instructions automatically, with the option for any repo to override the central default. Skills themselves are new too: versioned instructions (with scripts, if needed) that your rules or PR comments can call by name.
Custom integrations are now MCP endpoints Custom integrations are now just an MCP server URL. Give Gitar the endpoint, the auth headers, and the tools it’s allowed to touch, and it can use your internal systems as part of a review or automation.
More control over what gets reviewed. New “allowed” and “excluded” branch settings mean teams on a stacked-branch workflow can tell Gitar to keep quiet on intermediate merges and only really engage on the merge that matters.
More DevOps platforms: Azure DevOps and Bitbucket Cloud are out of beta and the self-hosted versions (AZDO and BB) are in beta. GitLab’s self-hosted Free edition is now generally available..
