Lost SonarCloud Projects After Deleting a GitHub Organization

Hello,

I’m having an issue with my SonarCloud account: I can no longer find my projects on my SonarCloud dashboard.

My SonarCloud account is connected through GitHub, and I had several projects (mostly Amazon CodeCatalyst projects).
My account was linked to an organization (Organization-XXX).

Later, I connected a GitHub project that belonged to another organization (Organization-YYY) to my SonarCloud analyses.

So I had multiple projects analyzed (several CodeCatalyst projects and one GitHub project).
However, I had to delete my GitHub organization and recreate a new one, and since then, all my projects have disappeared from my SonarCloud account.
When I check my account properties, it now shows that I am not linked to any organization.

I would like to know how I can reconnect my SonarCloud account to my original organization (Organization-XXX).

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

You log in via GitHub?

Can you explain how you connected to this other organization’s project?

You deleted it from SonarQube Cloud or from GitHub?

Thx,
Ann

You log in via GitHub? Yes

Can you explain how you connected to this other organization’s project? I have connected to this organization project via the bind button on my SonarCloud project

I had to delete my GitHub organization and recreate a new one ? I had to delete it from Github

Hi,

It sounds like you’ll need to (re)bind your organization.

(Re) Bind my organisation with my new Github Organisation will recover my SonarCloud Organisation previously associated with my Github account ?

Hi,

Can you share what you’re expecting to recover? You deleted the organization from GitHub. That killed its repos. The only thing to recover would be the histories of those deleted projects.

(Note that I believe those projects are not recoverable, but the docs aren’t clear on the matter, so I’m going to flag this for folks with more background.)
