Limit to number of rules in list to rules parameter in issues/search?

Is there a limit to the size of the rules parameter to the api/issues/search call? If it’s too big I get an exception from the call. I can’t find a consistent hard limit to either the number of rules in the parameter or the absolute size of the string (rule keys separated by commas) but it seems to be around 130 rules or about 1400-1500 characters.

Are you aware of such a limitation, or could it just be something at my end, like IIS?

It is highly likely that this is on your end, especially if IIS is involved.
