Need to add custom project name validation in latest developer edition?
Can we add a rule for project name not to have “:” in it?

There is not. Can you tell us why that would be useful to you (specifically related to the : character)?
Right now, our users are creating projects with pattern repositoryName:branchName, we are thinking of restricting that (as we are upgrading to developer edition from community edition).
Is it feasible to do the validation through a custom plugin ?
