# Failed to connect to SonarQube Cloud of my company via Intellij extension

- MacOS Tahoe 26.3
- SonarQube for **PYCHARM** plugin version: 11.13.0.84156
- **PYCHARM** version: 253.31033.139
- Programming language you’re coding in: Python
- Is connected mode used:
  - SonarQube Cloud,

In my company sonarQube account I have created USER TOKEN and pasted it in token field for Cloud setup and got this error:

- no vpn was used
- no proxy was used

What could be the issue?

Hey @Agata_Filipczak , could you please share the [verbose logs](https://docs.sonarsource.com/sonarqube-for-intellij/resources/troubleshooting#how-to-get-sonarqube-for-ide-logs) from SonarQube for IntelliJ when this error happens? It may contain relevant information that could help us investigate.

Also, during the connection wizard, have you checked that you connected through SonarQube Cloud and not Server?

Can you try running this command in your terminal:

```auto
curl -v https://sonarcloud.io

```

If this also fails, the problem is purely at the OS/network level, not SonarQube for IDE.

I would say that this error almost always appears in corporate environments behind a proxy. The JVM doesn’t automatically pick up system proxy settings, it needs them explicitly. In IntelliJ:

**Settings → Appearance & Behavior → System Settings → HTTP Proxy**

Other ideas for investigation could be:

- DNS configuration
- SSL inspection in your network, which could block unknown hosts at TCP level
