# Execution of task timed out

Hi everyone,

Since June 8, 2022 we have been receiving the following error for our master brunch

- ALM used (GitHub)
- Link to the project in GitHub - [GitHub - zabbix/zabbix: Real-time monitoring of IT components and services, such as networks, servers, VMs, applications and the cloud.](https://github.com/zabbix/zabbix)
- Link to the project in SonarCloud - [https://sonarcloud.io/project/overview?id=zabbix\_zabbix](https://sonarcloud.io/project/overview?id=zabbix_zabbix)
- Sonar scanner is configured for branches: master, release/4.0, release/5.0, release/6.0
- Error observed in SonarCloud:

```auto
Execution of task timed out after 1811441 ms (threshold: 1800000 ms)

```

- Examples of background task IDs with failed results: AYFHubjjAb4zhNI2bsmV, AYFHrGMrJ6tMCEr1IN1r

Could you please give some advice on how to fix it

@jonathan_gafner no, we still see the same errors. We excluded test code from the scan and at the moment the error appears only for 2 branches with more lines of code during C lang scanning (but again, sometimes everything is ok, sometimes it finished with the error 🙂)

Hi @Alexey_Mitrofanov

My apologies for the late answer. Figuring out the issue took us some time.  
We deployed this morning a mitigation for this issue. Your analysis will be more stable in the future.

@jonathan_gafner as far as I can see, your projects suffer from the same symptom with maybe a different cause, we are still investigating.

We deployed several fixes related to background tasks and timeouts in the last weeks.  
Do you still experience timeouts on your project?
