# Error sync gitlab auth group with sonarqube 9.9

- which versions are you using (SonarQube, Scanner, Plugin, and any relevant extension)  
sonarqube 9.9 community
- how is SonarQube deployed:  
ec2 instance
- what are you trying to achieve  
I am trying to delegate authentication with gitlab and also I am trying to make it to work only with groups from my gitlab space.
- what have you tried so far to achieve this  
the guide indicated in the documentation was executed

1. the configuration in gitlab to create a oauth applicatión.
2. the configuration in sonarqube to add the secret and application id.
3. ther Server base URL in general tab.
4. enabled synchronize user groups

5. created the group in sonarqube with the full path name of gitbal group.

the groups are not synchronizing and it does not allow authentication

Can you _temporarily_ bump your server logging up to `DEBUG` level, try logging in with Gitlab, and see what shows up in your `web.log` [server logs](https://docs.sonarqube.org/latest/setup/troubleshooting/)?
