Do the versions of Sonarlint plugins for the various IDEs stay in sync somehow? That is, if I have Sonarlint x.y.z for Eclipse, and I want the version for IntelliJ which is the most similar (in behavior, appearance, etc.), then should I use version x.y.z for IntelliJ (or the closest thereof), or should I use the one whose release date is closest to the release date for the Eclipse version? Or are they completely independent?

While we try to keep feature parity among the SonarQube for IDE flavors, they don’t move in lockstep. In general, the best course is to try to stay on the latest version, whatever the flavor.
