# Auto assign issues with Github users (commiter not recognised)

We’re having trouble getting auto-assign to work in SonarCloud.  
Our users are auto-synced from GitHub, but commit comes through with different user name than that in SonarCloud e.g. commit says [john.smith@company.com](mailto:john.smith@company.com) and same member in SonarCloud is [johnsmithcompany@github.com](mailto:johnsmithcompany@github.com). What do we need to do to make sure they match?

Hi @louisfrench,

I suspect there is a mismatch between emails here. Can you compare the email that is in the commit `john.smith@company.com` with the email in the SonarCloud? Is the [johnsmithcompany@github.com](mailto:johnsmithcompany@github.com) present in his `Email` or `Login` field in the account view: [https://sonarcloud.io/account](https://sonarcloud.io/account) ?

Hi @Marcin_Majewski,

Indeed looking at the account view shows my email and my github name in both the profile and SCM sections. Is there a way to add additional emails to a users SCM details - so I can match those that appear with the commit with the user? I still can’t figure out why Github uses a different email address.
